The Seventh Month Guest is a clay stop-motion fantasy AI film about surviving family loss. Milo, a young angel, follows a cherished memory from Heaven to remind his grieving family that their bond remains unbroken.
Every year during the Seventh Month, the veil between worlds is said to grow thin. This project was born from a simple question: what if that folklore wasn't frightening, but tender? What if the "ghosts" wandering the human world weren't malevolent spirits, but souls who simply missed the people they left behind?
This film exists to offer a quiet, comforting take on loss during a season traditionally associated with fear — reframing Ghost Month as a story about presence rather than dread, made entirely with AI-assisted stop-motion animation tools.
Narrative
The story about Milo, a clay puppet spirit, and his cat companion Coco, who slip past a towering Guardian to escape Heaven. A vertical falling shot carries them from bright clouds into a deep indigo night sky, crash-landing in a forest where they hide behind bark as the Guardian's massive feet pass overhead.

Reaching the city, they're chased again near a plaza, dissolving into mint-green light to phase through walls—a kitchen, a stairwell, a child's bedroom—before reaching Milo's old home. Noah, his brother, walks straight through Milo's raised hand, unseeing. Milo and Coco pass through the wall into a warm, tungsten-lit dining room where Mum and Noah eat dinner. Milo cries silently at a faded family photo; Coco leaves a glowing pawprint that draws fireflies and their attention.

The Guardian appears at the window, watching rather than attacking. Milo silently pleads, hands over his heart, gesturing to his family. The Guardian nods, and Milo's glow turns gold, making him briefly tangible—he embraces Noah and Mum, who feel his warmth. He and Coco then leave through the doorway, fading into the night as a glowing flower settles beside the pawprint.
Visuals
Stop-motion look — characters and sets built from tactile materials(clay, fabric, wood) and rendered with realistic lighting that reacts to physical texture, rather than smooth flat digital shading. The goal is a world that feels touchable and lived-in, with visible craftsmanship in every surface color palette, and creative direction.
